Valerie is a Venezuelan American poet and bookmaker from Hallandale Beach, Florida. Her work explores ecology, identity, and grief in the face of climate change. She earned an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Notre Dame and is a recipient of the Samuel and Mary Ann Hazo Award for Poetry.

Her manuscript, Anthology of Wildflowers, was a finalist for the Birdcoat Quarterly + Ghost Peach Press 2022 Book Contest and a semi-finalist for the 2022 Anzaldúa Poetry Prize by Newfound.
